Cnoc Tiarnach is an elevated site overlooking the ancient site of Loch Gabhair. Cnoc being the Irish word for Hill. Tigernach Mac Fócartai was King of Loch Gabhair (Lagore) in the 800’s. He inflicted a significant defeat on the Norsemen in an oakwood at Dísert Do-Chonna assisted by Mealduin the High King of Ireland. Tigernach is an old Irish word and the modern Irish version is Tiarnach.

Cnoc Tiarnach is located in the heart of Dunshaughlin. The development is situated north east of the village on the St. Seachnails Road and this idyllic setting offers home owners convenient access to the village. Benefiting from a village atmosphere Dunshaughlin is steeped in history but is also home to a fine array of supermarkets, shops, restaurants and cafés. It has excellent transport links including the close proximity of the park and ride railway station with a commuter link to Connolly Station. Dunshaughlin is only 20 minutes from the M50 and the M3 motorway is also close, giving easy access to Dublin and various commuter belts. The village is also serviced by many bus routes.
