Cliff Lodge is located in the popular beach and surfing community of Rossnowlagh, Co. Donegal. All the local amenities are within walking distance with a quiet creek and beach being a very short distance away. The area forms part of the dramatic "Wild Atlantic Way" scenic driving route which weaves along the whole western coast of Ireland.
Beautiful Coastal Location
The accommodation is perched on a cliff edge giving dramatic views and sounds of the Atlantic below. A short walk enables access to a secluded little cove with a small beach suitable for families and couples while the popular 2km Rossnowlagh Beach is only a 7-8 minute walk away (800m).
Both the well-know and award winning Smugglers Creek Bar and Restaurant and the stylish Gaslight Pub and Restaurant are only a 3-4 minute walk away (400m), while the well-renowned Franciscan Friary with its tranquil gardens and walks is also within a 6-7 minute walk (700m) of the this beautiful holiday rental.
Rossnowlagh is a quiet and select beach resort situated 10 miles (15 km) from the historical picturesque and cultured town of Donegal to the north, and 8 miles (12 km) from the vibrant sea-side resort town of Bundoran to the south.
Blue Flag Beach
Rossnowlagh beach itself is a 2 mile (3 km) long crescent shaped beach with designated areas for swimmers, jet-skiers, surfers and boaters. It is a very safe beach for swimming and has a full-time lifeguard service during the summer months. It is also very popular with walkers, joggers, wind-surfers, kite-surfers, gliders etc. In addition to this, it is one of Ireland's longest holders of the Blue Flag Status (an international award for beach water quality).
The local region around Rossnowlagh also offers the visitor many activities and attractions away from the beach. These include trekking, fishing, golfing, mountain climbing, horse trekking, dramatic landscapes, rugged coastlines, historical sites, fantastic traditional pubs, as well as quaint little gaelic speaking villages.

Surfing - Rossnowlagh has excellent surfing and the European Championships have been held here a number of times. Bundoran is also a top class surfing venue Golf - superb 18 hole links courses are located at Murvagh, near Donegal Town and at Bundoran
Crafts – Britton and Daughters Gallery is located beside the Sandhouse Hotel. On display you will find a vast array of artwork by Barry Britton and his daughter Easkey. There are also beautiful craft shops in Ballyshannon and Donegal Town – the Donegal Craft Village is located in the latter
Angling - An Duanai Mara Charter Boat is a fully licensed vessel based at Creevy Pier. It offers deep sea fishing, shark angling, and sightseeing trips on Donegal Bay
Horse Riding - There are a number of Equestrian centres in the region including the Five Oaks Ranch in Ballyshannon and Donegal Equestrian in Bundoran.
Cycling - South Donegal abounds with small, winding roads which offer spectacular views around every corner and are ideal for cycling.
Beaches - In addition to Rossnowlagh there are fine beaches in Bundoran and Murvagh
