Subsequently an International-standard event course was created at Dollanstown, with an assortment of testing cross country fences over varying terrain, including woodlands and open parkland. Among notable events held were trials for the Olympic Games and European Championships in three-day eventing. A Derby Course has been used in competition up to 2016.
