Truly a rare opportunity, No 131 comes to the market having been extended and renovated to the absolute highest of standards, tastefully presented with a high quality finish, boasting a sun trap garden and a detached home office nestled away on this quaint, peaceful street just a stones throw from Terenure village.
Extremely well maintained throughout in turn-key condition, the current owner, a builder, purchased the house in 1990 and 12 years ago he modernised the house from its original 'type B' design to a contemporary living space. The kitchen was extended at the rear with velux windows to capture the sunny aspect during the day. The kitchen features a Belfast sink from which you can look out into the garden. The living room with a stove at the front is cosy during the long winter evenings. Upstairs in the modern redesign, the master bedroom includes a walk-in wardrobe and separate en-suite. A main bathroom was also designed upstairs with a bath. The front two double bedrooms are well proportioned and light filled.
Recently, the owner constructed a multi-purpose block built garden room/home office and shed for his expanding family. The garden room is warmed with in built pump heater and complements the landscaped garden. A beautiful tiled patio was built with the garden room, perfect for dining al fresco and for the little ones to play safely.
Extremely well proportioned accomodation comprises wide entrance hallway, welcoming living room with solid fuel stove, spacious open plan kitchen/dining/living room overlooking garden to rear with high ceilings and flooded with natural light throughout, well fitted utility, upstairs is equally as impressive with 3 fine bedrooms - the master boasts a luxury ensuite and a walk in wardrobe. There is the main family bathroom and a home office space nestled away on the landing completes the picture!
The house is situated in a mature and quiet location. The south east aspect ensures that the rear of the garden is sunny until late in the evening. It has ample off street parking and a gated side entrance.

History of Corrib Road
The Guinness Company constructed Corrib Road as part of a housing initiative in the late forties. The housing initiative was prompted by a survey of the Company's employees in 1947, which highlighted that a large number of married men were suffering serious housing difficulties. Indeed, single men who wanted to get married were discouraged from doing so because of the accommodation shortages.
There were two designs to the houses, A-type houses, designed for southern and eastern aspects, had the living room to the front, while the B-type houses, fronted north and west, had the living room, kitchen and main bedrooms at the back so as to catch the maximum sunlight.
The first house was occupied on 8th August 1949 and the estate had its own playground. Employees paid a weekly rent of 25/- (shillings). In the fifties, the housing board awarded annual prizes for the best gardens on the housing estate. From 1969 tenants had the opportunity to buy the houses and shortly thereafter all the houses were sold.
