Mount Pleasant is a modern 4 bedroom home located in a small development in the popular family seaside resort of Rossnowlagh in South Donegal. From the front door of the holiday home it is just a few minutes walk to the fabulous Rossnowlagh Beach. It is also a short walk to the surf schools based in and around the Sandhouse Hotel.
The holiday home has 4 roomy bedrooms with excellent ensuite facilities - no queing for a shower after a long day on the beach! There is a beautiful open plan area with a modern fitted kitchen, a dining area and a living space with open fireplace. There is also a utility room, enclosed rear garden and a paved patio area.
Rossnowlagh - A Great Base for a Beach and Surfing Holiday
The main attraction in Rossnowlagh is, of course, the fabulous Blue Flag beach. This 4km long beach is lifeguard patrolled and is ideal for children to play and famous for its surfing and water sports. A number of surf schools are based on the beach and offer lessons to all levels of ability.
Rossnowlagh is well served with pubs, all of which served bar food with an emphasis on seafood dishes. These include the Smugglers Creek, the Gaslight and the Surfers Bar in the Sandhouse Hotel. Across the road from the Sandhouse Hotel is the Britton and Daughters Gallery. On display is a vast array of artwork by Barry Britton and his daughter Easkey
The holiday home is surrounded by peaceful country roads and lanes, many of them hugging the coastline. This makes it ideal walking and cycling terrain. The scenic Creevy Coastal Pathway is a signposted coastal walking route that stretches from Rossnowlagh southwards towards the Erne Estuary and Ballyshannon.
The Donegal Golf Club at Murvagh
Just 7km from the holiday home is the Donegal Golf Club at Murvagh. This is an outstanding links golf course. Designed by the legendary course architect, Eddie Hackett, it is continually featured in Golf World’s Top 100 courses in Ireland and Great Britain. The historic town of Ballyshannon is 10km south of the holiday home. Reputed to be the oldest town in Ireland, Ballyshannon is located at a point where the mighty Erne system meets the sea. Today it is vibrant town with a good selection of cafes, restaurants, pubs and shops.
Donegal Town is just over 15km north of holiday home. This vibrant town is of great historical interest and has numerous tourist attractions. Donegal Castle stands beside The Diamond, overlooking the River Eske. Guided historical tours of Donegal Town take place on a daily basis during the summer and the Waterbus takes you around Donegal Bay. The ruins of Donegal Abbey, situated on the bay, are open to the public. Donegal Town also has several first class hotels and restaurants. There is entertainment each night in the local pubs with music to suit all tastes
Within an hours drive of the holiday home there are numerous top class tourist attractions including Glenveagh National Park, The Ulster American Folk Park in Omagh, the Marble Arch Caves in Fermanagh and Slieve League in South West Donegal - the highest sea cliffs in Europe.
