Description

Moagh Cottage is a beautiful 4 bedroom cottage situated just outside the Heritage Town of Ardara in South West Donegal. From its elevated site it commands wonderful views towards Loughros Beg Bay and the mountains that surround the Glengesh Pass. The cottage has a peaceful location. Adding to the tranquillity of the location is the sound of a mountain stream the flows in a small ravine below the cottage.  The holiday home has been finished to a high standard throughout. There are four spacious bedrooms – 3 of which are ensuite. On the ground floor there is a bright open plan area featuring a living space, kitchen, dining area and a relaxing sun room. There is also a utility room and supplies of wood are available for the wood burning stove. The cottage has enclosed landscaped grounds and can be accessed by a modern footbridge over the mountain stream. Ardara - A Heritage Town The cottage is just 1.5km from  Ardara. Ardara is one of the most attractive towns in Donegal and is set in a wide valley where the Owentocher River enters Loughros More Bay. The environs of the town is an area rich in history, culture, bounded by stunning landscapes and has an abundance of activities for the holidaymaker. Ardara is a traditional centre for weaving and knitwear production. Its historical importance has been recognised in the granting of Heritage status to the town.  The visitor will find a number of excellent restaurants in the locality as well as friendly pubs – several of which feature traditional music sessions. Ardara now has a well established festival programme which runs throughout the year and includes a Bluegrass Festival, the Ardara Agriculture Show, the Cup O’Tae Festival, the Donegal Harvest Rally, an International Walking Festival  - and weekends for traditional dancing and match-making.
