DescriptionGlenalla Cottage is a delightful Irish cottage located in a very peaceful rural setting in North Donegal. It is centrally located between the 3 main villages that lie to the south of the beautiful Fanad Peninsula – the seaside resort of Rathmullan, the Heritage Town of Ramelton and the market town of Milford.
Glenalla Cottage has been beautifully restored in recent years. By retaining many period features it has successfully combined the old with the new. Traditional features include exposed ceiling beams, rough stone walls, belfast sink and cast iron fireplaces. An attractive feature is a number of stained glass windows.
Rathmullan and Ramelton
A short drive from the holiday home is the popular family seaside village of Rathmullan. The village is well served with shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants. There is a nice playground at the beach front and charter boats operate from the pier. A local equestrian centre offer pony trekking on the beach. The nearby town of Ramelton is noted for its Georgian Architecture. The Bridge Bar in the town is a renowned music venue. Just 20km from the cottage is Portsalon which has a superb blue flag beach and a top class links golf course.

Take a trip along the spectacular Knockalla Coast Road
Golf at Portsalon Golf Club. This classic 18 hole links course is 20 minutes drive from the cottage. Letterkenny Golf Club is also 20 minutes and tthe superb Rosapenna Golf Club is a 30 minute drive.
Go sea angling or sightseeing on Lough Swilly

Take a day trip to the historic walled city of Derry
Visit Letterkenny- County Donegal's main town. This busy town has everything you would expect to find in a modern urban centre – cinemas, theatre, indoor play centres, swimming pool, town park, shopping centres and night clubs. Letterkenny is a 25 minute drive from the holiday home.
Climb Muckish and Errigal. Mount Errigal, the highest mountain in Donegal is a demanding climb and once on the summit you can see for miles around.
Visit Glenveagh National Park, with 16,000 hectares of mountains, lakes, wood and bogs. Glenveagh contains the largest red deer population in Europe. Within the National Park Glenveagh Castle and gardens are well worth a visit on their own
