Bhelliom is a modern 5 bedroom holiday home located half way between picturesque coastal town of Malin and Irelands most northernly point at Malin Head. Sitting on approximately 1 acre of ground the holiday home is 10 minutes walk away from the stunning Five finger Strand Beach and the dramatic sand dunes at Lagg Chapel.
Wild Atlantic Way
The holiday home is situated just 50 metres off the route of the Wild Atlantic Way - Irelands long distance driving route. In Inishowen this wonderful scenic coastal drive follows closely the route of the long established Inishowen 100 Route.
Comfortable Acccommodation for 10 People
Bhelliom is a large spacious house that has plenty of room for everyone. The house has 5 double rooms (1 twin room), 2 large bathrooms and 1 en-suite bathroom, a large dining room, galley style kitchen, and utility room. There is also a broadband service in the house The bright living room has a smart tv and a solid fuel stove. A cot is available on request. Please note that we do not allow pets to stay in the house.
There are views towards the Atlantic Ocean from the holiday home grounds. It features outdoor furniture, bbq and 6 person hot tub. A large garage with mezzanine floor is available for storage.
Wild Atlantic Way
At the top of the Inishowen Peninsula is Ireland’s most northerly point - Banba's Crown at Malin Head. This is a desigmated Signature Point on the Wild Atlantic Way
Malin Head is not just Ireland’s most northerly point, but also an area of great scenic beauty and of historical, scientific and ecological importance. The area is steeped in history and folklore. You will also find the largest sand dunes in Europe at Lagg.
On Knockamany Bens you can view the famous Five Finger Strand and at low tide you can see the wreck of the Twilight, which sank in 1889 on its way to Derry. On a clear day you can see Tory Island and Muckish Mountain to the west, Rathlin Island and the Paps of Jura, Islay and the Mull of Kintyre to the East.
Aurora Borealis/Northern Lights
Dolphins and Basking sharks are frequent visitors to the waters around Malin Head. The many cliffs, headlands and rocky outcrops are home to numerous sea birds. North Inishowen is also one of the best places in Ireland to see the Aurora Borealis/Northern Lights ( see the photo gallery for a photo of the holiday home during the Aurora Borealis). It is prehaps not surprising that Malin Head was chosen as a location to shoot a Star Wars Movie!
Malin Town (7km) is located on the shores of Trawbrega Bay which is a designated Special Protection Area and Wildfowl Sanctuary. Malin has a number of pubs, shops and a hotel. It also has an AIRE approved equestrian centre. The holiday home is also just 14km from Carndonagh the main town in north Inishowen.
The Inishowen Peninsula offers stunning scenery, and has excellent facilities for fishing, horse rising, golf, bird watching, hiking and long golden beaches, with three blue flag beaches, Culdaff, Lisfannon and Stroove. Bhelliom is an ideal base to explore this beautiful part of Ireland.
