The Dunlewey Centre
The Dunlewey Centre (Ionad Cois Locha) has superb facilities including a restaurant, tea-room, craft shop, horse riding stables, adventure play areas, a themed farmyard, pets and animals, storytelling, boat trips on Dunlewey Lake, guided tours and weaving demonstrations. Traditional music sessions are held regularly in July and August. The centre now boasts a state-of-the-art concert and drama centre. It is a great facility to have on your doorstep for those days when the weather is inclement.
Dunlewey Lake itself along with the nearby Clady River are popular fishing venues with permits available in Bunbeg. The lake has a "crannÃ³g" a man made island reached by stepping stones that was a former refuge on the lake for the eariliest inhabitants of the region to escape from wild animals and tribal attacks.
