Appletree House is a 4 bedroom holiday home located in a quiet cul de sac just 5 min walk from the centre of historic Donegal Town. This comfortable self catering accommodation will enable the visitor to relax and enjoy the many tourist amenities in Donegal Town and its environs . The holiday home is also an ideal base to explore the dramatic Wild Atlantic Way in South West Donegal.
A Peaceful Setting Close to the Centre of Donegal Town

Appletree House has 4 comfortable bedrooms – 3 doubles and a single. There is a ground floor bathroom with bath and separate shower and a first floor toilet. A comfortably furnished living room has an open fireplace and large flatscreen tv.  A bright and spacious kitchen is well equipped for a self catering holiday. There is small lawn to the front and a large lawn to the back which overlooks local playing grounds. There are two apple trees in the back garden – hence the name of the house.
A Town Steeped in History

Donegal Town is a busy shopping and tourist town where the River Eske flows into Donegal Bay. The town is steeped in history. Donegal Castle, more correctly called O'Donnells Castle, is located just off the Diamond and is probably the towns most popular attraction.  The Castle is furnished throughout and includes Persian rugs and French tapestries. Tourist Trail

A great way to see Donegal town is to follow the Tourist Trail, a signposted walking tour which begins in the Diamond, a square designed in the1600s. The Tourist trail is clearly signposted and includes such attractions as the Castle, various churches and a Napoleonic anchor retrieved from the sea in the 1850's. 

The streets which radiate from the Diamond were laid out to the plans of Sir Basil Brooke, the last owner of the castle. A 25ft obelisk erected in the Diamond in 1937 commemorates Donegals famous 17th century historians, four Franciscan monks who wrote the 'Annals of the Four Masters' (1632-36), a history of Ireland from early times.
