Description

Rathernan Glebe & Coach House with approximately 7 Acres / 2.8 Hectares A charming Georgian house (c. 4,000 sq ft) together with a substantial converted Coach House (c. 2,700 sq ft) in a secluded parkland setting with commanding views towards the Hill of Allen and within easy reach of the city. Naas 7 miles, Newbridge 6 miles, Dublin City Centre & International Airport 24 miles. Situated in a parkland setting the house is approached off a quiet country road via a long avenue flanked by a large paddock that sweeps around to the side of the main house and continues on to the coach house behind. The present owners completely restored the main house in the mid 1980’s and the result is a delightful property that has many period features which include; sash windows, timber floors, marble chimney pieces and an elegant staircase. The well-proportioned reception rooms and principal bedrooms have long sash windows with high ceilings (c.11 feet); they are full of light with lovely views across the surrounding gardens and farmland. The Coach House was restored in 2000 to a high standard with double glazed windows and oil fired central heating. Both the house and coach house are independent of each other, are completely private and are surrounded by mature specimen trees and lovely mature gardens which are a real feature of the property. There are expansive lawns interspersed by flowering shrubs and borders that create a profusion of colour throughout the summer months sheltered by mellow stone walls and mature beech hedging. There is easy access to the city via the “Arrow” commuter service at Newbridge and Naas and both towns offer a wide variety of shops, shopping centres, cinemas, restaurants and schools. Outbuildings Spacious garage and separate garden shed. The Grounds Of the 7 acres statute measure the extensive gardens that also include a hard tennis court comprise approximately one acre the balance being in two paddocks. Services Both properties have separate oil fired central heating systems, separate septic tanks and mains water.
