Directions

From Oughterard village proceed along Main Street towards Clifden passing the Garda Station on your left. Just before the Bridge turn left after the shop, it will be signposted Costelloe and Shannapheasteen, continue down this road for approx. half a mile. Just past Canrawer House Hostel take the first right and it’s the third house on the right hand side.

LOCATION:

The house is only minutes walking distance of the village centre and all the amenities now afforded by Oughterard. Canrawer is a mature residential area of detached houses enjoying the bliss of country life yet having all amenities on its doorstep. Oughterard is a quaint village on the shores of Lough Corrib with a wide range of shops and other amenities including pubs, bank, hotels and schools. The village also caters for the large numbers of visitors who come to take advantage of the walking, boating, and some spectacular scenery for which this village is justly famous. Oughterard derives its name from Uachtar Árd, the upper height or the high upper place. This is an important angling centre, patronised by generations of fishermen who come year after year. The Owenriff River, which descends from a neighbouring mountain, runs through the village with many lovely walks running along the river.
