Description(Reference number: 77484)
A sixteenth-century villa in the hilly outskirts of Florence that, at times, has been both a stables and a nightclub, Thermae is one of the most spectacular places we’ve seen in Italy. Its restoration has been a labour of love for the host, Giovanni, and the way that he’s incorporated technology into the original structure is simply impressive. There’s too much to describe here, but know that everything's been taken care of. And if we did have to choose one thing that stood out, it might have to be the pool, hidden away in the vaults, and only accessible through a trapdoor.
*San Miniato is a lovely town with everything you need, but it takes half an hour to drive into the centre of Florence
*As the ceiling is vaulted, it gets a bit low in places
