(Reference number: 162893)
A former rectory in the quiet Carmarthenshire village of Llanedi, this house carries the kind of period character that's easy to appreciate – a grand hallway, chandelier-lit bedrooms, and a log burner in the country kitchen where long meals are all but guaranteed. Outside, a terrace with a hot tub overlooks green valleys, equally good for a lazy afternoon or an evening under the stars. Dogs are welcome, with a dedicated wash-down area by the kitchen ideal for muddy paws. The Gower Peninsula and Carreg Cennen Castle are both within an hour's drive when the mood for adventure strikes.
Home truths:
* Up to four well-behaved dogs are welcome to join you. Dogs must be kept off the beds and furniture and can't be left at home unattended.
* The second bedroom has a single-over-double bunk bed that can sleep up to three people – it may be best suited to children. This room shares a Jack-and-Jill-style bathroom with the main bedroom.
* You'll need a car to make the most of your stay here. Llanedi is rural, and most restaurants, shops, and attractions require a short drive – though Pontarddulais train station is nearby for travel to Swansea. There's parking for up to four cars in the driveway.
* You'll need to bring your own wood for the log-burning fireplace in the kitchen. The fireplace in the living area is ornamental and not for guest use.
* If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot and high chair. You'll need to request them in advance.
* The fifth bedroom is located on the basement level and is a self-contained space ideal for teenagers.
