A very rare and unique opportunity to live like a station master when you stay at Platform Three at Station House, at Malvern Link Railway Station. Originally built in the 1800s, it has been lovingly restored and handcrafted by the owner and is one of three fabulous two bedroom cottages overlooking the platform. Enjoy watching the comings and goings of station life, an ideal place to stay for a train enthusiast. With inspiration from the London Underground, the ground floor hallway has tiled walls, arched ceilings and a unique floor covering made from two pence coins, and leads to the two cosy bedrooms, each with their own en-suite shower room and toilet. The first floor is open plan and the décor has great style including a restored, wall-mounted stationary engine and a glittering floor which leads on to a large floating balcony where you can enjoy a glass of wine or dine al fresco after a busy day sightseeing.
Platform Three at Station House enjoys a convenient position less than 5 minutes’ walk from Malvern Link which has many amenities including shops, banks, supermarkets, restaurants and pubs. Malvern Link Common is opposite, and it is only ¼ mile to the spa town of Malvern where you will find many shops, pubs, restaurants and the famous Malvern Theatre. From Malvern Link Railway Station you can visit London Paddington, Birmingham New Street and Hereford. You may even see the odd steam train passing by.
Three Counties Showground is nearby which holds many exhibitions and shows throughout the year, including the RHS Malvern Spring Festival and the Royal Three Counties Show. Also worth a visit is the neighbouring town of Upton-on-Severn, famous for its festivals of jazz, folk and blues, and there are many pubs along the river. The cathedral cities of Worcester and Hereford are close by and slightly further afield are Gloucester, Cheltenham and Stratford-upon-Avon. The Cotswolds, the Wye Valley and the Brecon Beacons are also within easy reach. Being such a unique property in a unique location, you’ll want to visit this cottage again and again.
