After a long day of hiking and paddling, it’s a real treat to watch the sun begin to set over the cow meadow. Pour a glass of wine and admire the views that stretch all the way to Somerset. Later on, sitting around the fire pit, you’ll spot bats swooping through the trees above you. House martins and swallows nest around the farm, too, and you may also spot foxes, hedgehogs, badgers and roe deer. Rare orchids and meadow flowers bloom in the pastures surrounding the home, adding a sweet aroma to the country air. This is a perfect sanctuary for two – you’ll never want to leave.
