Description

There is no other word more fitting of Willville' than elegant. Of course, pristine would also fit well, as could smart, bright and stylish, but what struck me above all was that this house is elegant: from the impressive split solid wood staircase to the smart Oriental garden, and for the practicality of the integrated garage and the large, light-filled kitchen. To be honest, there's so much to tell you about this home. Better to start at the beginning: The house is located in Willville, Carlingford this is a rural, coastal setting that's adjacent to Whitestown, and is about 8 km (or 8 minutes' drive) from Carlingford. In the vicinity, you have an enticing list of tasty amenities: From Lily Finnegan's Pub in Whitestown, to O'Neill's Nursey, Strandfield Cafe, Carlingford village, 2 x 18-hole golf clubs (Greenore & Ballymascanlon), Fitzpatrick's Bar & Restaurant, and of course a long list of popular mountain and shore walking routes. The house itself was built in 2000 and is a fresh modern symmetrical design. Set within a very private, maturely planted site (more about that later), the house is approached via electric gates and its setting is very impressive. The attention to finish is immediately evident, with granite finish and smart, clean lines. Entering through the front door and storm porch, you arrive into the heart of the house an open plan reception area with beautiful split staircase and comfortable lounge setting the free-standing stove set within a marble fireplace and marble tile floor is the perfect finish. Off this is a large games room or very ample office, if WFH is on the agenda. Back through the lounge, double doors lead to the bright and spacious kitchen-dining-family area. Some big features here: A 2 top Aga stove, an integrated stove and walk-in larder. Adjacent is a very large utility room, shower room and the double garage is beyond that. The garage has an electric roller door. Looking upstairs all of the bedrooms are fantastic! Moving up the beautiful staircase, you reach a well utilised landing seating area, which overlooks the beautiful mountain view outside. All of the bedrooms are spacious doubles. One a total show stopper is finished as a walk-in wardrobe. The main bedroom is exceptionally spacious and has a lovely ensuite. It also enjoys sea views and lots of light. Looking back through the garden, a lot of care has been put into making a sanctuary outside with mature c 10 ft yew hedging, to a very charming secret love seat area within a boxed hedge area, which leads to a granite fountain at the centre of the lawn. The mature treescape creates a lovely atmosphere and nice alternative shape to the form of the house. Important features include CCTV, central vacuum, high quality joinery and cabinetry throughout. This property has a lot to show for itself, and definitely warrants a viewing in order to fully appreciate the light and attention to detail within.
