Description

The Deanery House, Cashel, was constructed in 1790 and is a two-storey limestone-built residence, and since the 1960s is the official Rectory/Vicarage for Cashel Parish (Church Of Ireland). The house has a hipped slate roof with overhanging eaves and rendered chimney stacks. The property has square headed window openings with timber sliding sash windows all with limestone sills, and a timber windowed conservatory with concrete sills. The entrance to The Deanery has rendered piers and cast-iron gates. This is a well distinguished building with wide overhanging eaves and a fine fanlight door case, which gives the house an added prominence and sets it apart as an elegant residence, which has functioned as The Deanery for the Church of Ireland Cathedral over many decades. It is also an established and important landmark for the town of Cashel. Rarely does a period property of such quality come to the market. Ideally located within a short stroll of Cashel Town Centre, Maryville exudes grandeur and scale befitting a landmark building such as this. The house is imposing and tucked back from the public street by private driveway. ZONED LANDS C.9.66 ACRES The lands which extend to c9.66 acres run inland from the rear of the Deanery itself and spread out mainly south-easterly and adjoin other residential developments constructed in the past 20 years. The land is currently in use for agriculture but is zoned in the Cashel Town Plan. The points of access are from the Deanery itself with a further 2 points of access at Copperfield House and from a Laneway at Lowergate Square. The lands themselves are a mixture of walled gardens and field paddocks in an urban environment. Which provide more than ample pleasure ground and supporting lands to the Deanery House, which was their original usage and are unique in terms of their size and scope in a town centre location. The land bank is unique in the town and could be developed in time for alternative uses subject to planning permission. Location Maryville is situated in a prime location within the town of Cashel. The historic town of Cashel is home to the famous Rock of Cashel, one of Ireland's most visited tourist attractions. Cashel provides a range of amenities including restaurants, bars, supermarkets, bank, post office, library, schools (public and private), and a hospital. There are excellent transport links nearby including the M8 motorway located on the outskirts of the town which connects Dublin to Cork via the M7 interchange. There is a regular Dublin to Cork train service running from Thurles Station (20 km distance). Maryville is well-positioned for airports, including Cork Airport (1 hour) and Dublin Airport (1 hour 30m).
