Description
A union of Scandinavian design and contemporary cube architecture makes a stunning statement on the shores of Lough Corrib. The original timber-framed Scandinavian house was built in the early 90’s and the modern cube with connecting hallway followed 25 years later. The original Scandinavian blue house has a very generous kitchen/living/lounge space, two ground floor bedrooms, a utility and main bathroom. Upstairs offers two further bedrooms, one with ensuite. The Cube is connected to the blue house via a light filled contemporary entrance hallway with a large picture window, framing the first glimpse of Lough Corrib in the distance. The Cube is a dream for anyone who loves modern architecture. It is simple yet elegant, and captures the very best of the east/west aspect of the property. The accommodation in this wing comprises a large, light-filled living room with outdoor access. A study completes the ground floor area. Upstairs houses a beautiful master suite with dressing room/ensuite. This truly stunning property suggests that it is possible to retreat from a fast-paced world to a calmer, more laid-back way of life. Knockferry reveals itself via a 225 metre driveway and is set on over 1.9 acres. Please note that there is a right-of-way along the driveway that veers around the stone boundary.
