Description
Kilmacurragh Lodge is a delightful, two-storey, former gate lodge, built c.1840. The lodge is one of a pair of gate houses to the Kilmacurragh House Estate which was built by the Acton family at the beginning of the 18th century. The lodge sits on a stunning site of c 1.7 acres or gardens and woodland. Bounded by a small stream, the long and narrow plot has been planted with the most beautiful plants and shrubs and has a wealth of mature trees. The residence comprises of the original gate lodge, which has a two storey extension to the rear. On the ground floor there is a large open plan living room, a kitchen/dining room, utility room and bathroom. Upstairs there are two bedrooms and a small attic room that is ideal for storage. The main bedroom has a sliding door to a balcony with beautiful views over the gardens. Outside there are a number of sheds that are ideal for storage, further down through the the garden there is a studio which is set into the woods and is ideal as a home office, artists studio or work shop. While the property would definitely benefit from some modernisation and possibly a new extension it simply oozes potential from every pore. Kilmacurragh Lodge is located in a quiet rural setting just 2 minutes to N11 M11 motorway at Beehive interchange. It is adjacent to the National Botanic Gardens at Kilmacurragh House with its beautiful 58 acre arboretum, visitors centre and cafe. Simply put, this is a completely unique property. An opportunity like this in the Wicklow area, comes up once in a blue moon. Early viewing is advised as this absolute gem is likely to sell quickly.
