Description

A truly remarkable and outstanding property, Ard Learóg is unquestionably one of the finest houses to be brought to the market in county Wicklow in recent times. From the moment you arrive at the timber, hand crafted, front gates you know you are somewhere special! Ard Learóg is Located at the edge of Rednagh Wood, on a perfectly flat and beautifully maintained site of approximately 1.2 acres. The house offers circa 280 sq.m (3,014 sq.ft) of internal accommodation over two floors and sits proudly on an elevated position to the right hand side of the site. The house is of a dormer bungalow style with elements of both Canadian and Scandinavian architecture with a timber clad, canopied, front porch that spans the entire front of the house and feature entrance with first floor pitch roofed balcony. The entire left hand gable is glazed from floor to ceiling of both the lounge and master bedroom looking straight across Rednagh Wood below. The owner, who is a master carpenter, has meticulously finished all the timber work both inside and out with the Pièce de résistance being the handcrafted timber spiral staircase in the hall. A concerted effort was made to use as many local materials in the build as possible, 85% of the timber used throughout the house was grown on site, the stone used to build the double sided fireplace in the lounge and the chimney stack on the right table was taken from the excavation and digging of the foundations. Ground floor accommodation comprises entrance hall with h off which there are double doors leading to the open plan kitchen, living room, dining room, utility room, guest WC, storeroom, and two double bedrooms. At first floor level there is a split landing area that overlooks the kitchen/diner below, off which there are two further double bedrooms, storeroom and full family bathroom. At the end of the landing we find the master bedroom with walk-in wardrobe and full en-suite. Entered through timber electric gates on to a railway sleeper lined gravel driveway leading to the house. To the front and side of the house there is ample parking for numerous cars. To the rear of the house there is a block built garden shed. To the front and side of the house there is a flat lawn area that stretches right to the edge of the wood which is just off the Ciaran Shannon walk.
