Ventry is a Gaeltacht village in Co Kerry. Located on the Dingle Peninsula, it is 7km west of Dingle. It is known for its long sandy beach which make it a popular tourist destination.The ruins of Dunbeg, an Iron Age promontory fort on the edge of a steep cliff, lie 6km west of Ventry and is popular amongst visitors to the area. Near Dunbeg is Kilvickadownig, home to other archeologial ruins, while Rahinnane Castle is another site of interest. Local amenities in Ventry include a church, shops, pubs and restaurants.
