Spanish Point
Spanish Point is a village in the parish of Milltown Malbay in Co Clare. It is around 2.5km from Milltown Malbay. It has many holiday homes with the population reducing in the winter months. It gets its name from the wrecking of some ships from the Spanish Armada off its coast in 1588. It is well known for its surfing with its beach one of its major attractions. It also has a nine hole golf course, one of the oldest in Ireland while there is also an airfield nearby which is privately owned. Local amenities include the Armada Hotel, several B&Bs and a caravan park.
