Rathmullan is a small seaside village on the Fanad Peninsula in Co Donegal. It is situated on the western shore of Lough Swilly, 11km north east of Ramelton and 12km east of Milford. Rathmullan was the scene of the Flight of the Earls in 1607 while other local places of interest include the ruins of the Carmelite Friary. Local amenities in Rathmullan include three shops, a resource centre, a couple of hotels and pubs. The village hosts the Lough Swilly Deep Sea Fishing Festival each June with fishing a popular pasttime for people in the area.
