Rathcoole is a village in Co Cork, 24km west of Mallow. The village is close to the Rivers Blackwater and Rathcool and Millstreet, which is less than 8km away. It is best known for the Rathcoole Aerodrome, which is operated by the Rathcoole Flying Club. The aerodrome sits at an elevation of 281 feet (86m) above sea level and has one runway designated 09/27 with a grass surface measuring 450 by 18 metres (1,476 by 59 ft). Other amenities in Rathcoole include St Brendan's NS, a filling station and GAA pitch.
