Mountnugent
Mountnugent is a village in the south of Co Cavan. It is located on the R194 regional road on a river crossing near Lough Sheelin. Historically known as Dalysbridge, the village is in Cavan but the parish of Mountnugent is in the Diocese of Meath. Mountnugent has a pub, grocey shop and filling station, a clothes shop, two churches and a primary school. There is also a hotel just outside the village called the Crover House Hotel. An equestrian centre is also located 3km away with fishing also a prominent sport in the area. Bus Éireann route 187 serves Mountnugent from Monday to Saturday, providing transport to the neighbouring towns and villages of Oldcastle, Ballyjamesduff, Virginia and Kells. There are two journeys from Mountnugent and three journeys to it each weekday.
