Millstreet

Millstreet is a town in north Cork. It is located at the foot of the Clara Mountain and is around 47km north west of Cork City. It is perhaps most famous for hosting the 1993 Eurovision Song Contest. It has also hosted numerous other major events over the yeras including world boxing title fights, the European Juggling Conventon and farm machinery shows. One of the largest equestrian centres in Ireland is located in Millstreet, named the Green Glens Arena. A part of the centre is a facility for shows and exhibitions. The town is situated on the Mallow–Killarney–Tralee line of the Irish railway network. Its amenities include St Patrick's Church and a selection of restaurants, pubs and shops. There are also a number of schools, including a secondary school.
