Letterkenny is the largest town in Co Donegal. Known as the Cathedral Town, it is located on the River Swilly in the east of the county. It boasts a cathedral – the Cathedral of St Eunan and St Columba - an Institute of Technology, the main hospital for the county and the only Hindu temple in the Republic of Ireland. It is well knwon for its night life with many pubs and clubs while the Aura complex on the Glenties Road includes an Olympic-standard swimming pool. The town is also home to the Danny McDaid Athletic Track, which is capable of hosting top-level events. There is a wide range of shops and schools in Letterkenny, as well as a cinema, theatre, library and arts centre. There are five primary schools in the town and four secondary schools, as well as a host of sports clubs and facilites. The nearest airport is City of Derry Airport, which is located about 48 kilometres to the east at Eglinton. There is also a small privately operated airfield on the outskirts of the town. Bus Éireann operates multiple daily services from its bus depot to Ireland's larger urban areas like Dublin (number 32), and Derry and Galway (both number 64). Private coach companies operate daily services to and from town.
