Knocknaheeny
Knocknaheeny is a suburb of Cork City. It is located north of the River Lee on hills overlooking the city. The area consists mainly of terraced council housing, although computer giant Apple's European base is also located here. Knocknaheeny is a relatively new community. It benefits from a primary school, secondary school and a learning institute in both St John's Northside Campus and the Terence MacSwiney Community College. The area has a number of sports clubs including GAA and soccer teams. It also benefits from a sports centre, with a number of parks in the area. Knocknaheeny is served by two bus routes - the 201 and 202 - providing links to the city centre, Cork IT, Cork University Hospital, Blackrock and Mahon. There are also a selection of shops, pubs and restaurants in the area.
