Kingscourt
Kingscourt is a town in Co Cavan which is located near the border with Co Meath. Historically known as Dunaree, the nearby forest of Dún na Rí takes its name from here and is a popular walking location for those from both near and far. There are two hotels in the town, Cabra Castle and Dún na Rí House Hotel. The town also boasts a church, many pubs and restaurants and a successful GAA side. Kingscourt is also the home of the Racquetball Association of Ireland. Kingscourt is approximately a 30 minute drive from the M1 motorway via Ardee in Co Louth, providing easy access to Dublin Airport (95km), Dublin City and its environs (90km), Drogheda (50km), Dundalk (35km) and Belfast (130km). Other nearby towns include Bailieborough, which is just 10 minutes away, as well as Carrickmacross, Navan and Kells, which are all within 35 minutes by road. There are daily bus connections to Nobber, Navan and Dublin with both Sillan Tours and Bus Éireann. On Tuesdays and Thursdays Bus Éireann route 166 provides a link to Cavan via Bailieborough and Stradone. Royal Breffni Tours also operate a twice daily service from Kingscourt to Dundalk IT departing Kingscourt at 8am and 10am and returning at 3pm and 5pm.
