Killeshandra
Killashandra,or Killeshandra as it is sometimes spelt, is a small town in Co Cavan located 20km northwest of Cavan town. Killashandra is centra to Co Cavan's lakeland and geopark region, set in the unique Erne catchment environment of rivers, lakes, wetlands and woodland. It is an Angling Centre of Excellence according to Fáilte Ireland and in recent years has become a hub for the Cavan Walking Festival, which takes place each May. The town is also well known as the base for the Lakeland Dairy Company but is also noted for the Lough Bawn Hotel, an array of shops, two national schools, churches, restaurants, pubs and a new community hall. Bus Éireann route 465 serves the town on Tuesday's, providing a link to Cavan via Arvagh and Ballinagh. It is also served a number of Cavan Area Rural Transport (CART) routes.
