Kilgarvan is a village in Co Kerry. It is situated on the banks of the Roughty River which flows into Kenmare Bay. The town of Kenmare is around 10.5km west with Killarney 31km north. Kilgarvan is located in the south east of the county, close to the border with Co Cork. Local amenities include a national school, supermarket, post office and a selection of shops and pubs. Other local attractions include the Rossacroo-na-loo forest and the Kilgarvan Motor Museum which features a collection of vintage and classic cars. There is also a GAA club in the village, which plays both football and hurling.
