Inver is a village in Co Donegal. It lies on the N56 road halfway between Killybegs to the west and Donegal Town to the east. Inver is sometimes known as the hidden jewel of the northwest. It was formerly a whaling post with the ruins of the old whaling station still visible in the port. Inver has an excellent football pitch and hosts one of the Donegal league's clbus called Eany Celtic. There are two churches located in Inver, a Catholic church which stands on a hill in a place named Ardaghey and a Church of Ireland church which is located beside the river in an area known as cranny. The two churches stand over-looking each other. There are two stores in the village, as well as a post office, coffee shop, tool hire company and community centre.
