Glasheen is a suburb of Cork City. It is to the south of the city and earned its named from the stream that flows through it, under the Glasheen Road. One of the city's main cemetaries, St Finbarr's, is located here while there are two local primary schools, one for boys and one for girls. Glasheen is bordered by The Mardyke to the north and Togher to the south with Bishopstown to its south, Wilton to its south west, Ballyphehane to its south east and UCC to its north east. There are a number of shops, pubs and restaurants in the area, while it is also close to Cork University Hospital, as well as the N71, N22 and N40 roads.
