Clarecastle is a village in Co Clare, located just south of Ennis. Over the past decade or more its population has swelled due to its close proximity to Ennis, Shannon and Limerick. The area is named after Clare Castle, which stands on an island in the narrowest navigable part of the River Fergus. Close to both the N85 and M18, its amenities include the West County Inn Hotel, shops, pubs and a national school. Ennis is just over 4km away and can be accessed via the 51 bus route.
