Galway City Centre is an area in the heart of Galway. Set primarily around Eyre Square, it is a thriving centre for threatre, music, culture and annual events, including the Galway Arts Festival, the Galway Races and the International Oyster Festival. There is a wide selection of shops, hotels, pubs and restaurants in the city centre with numerous sights including Galway Cathedral, the Spanish Arch and The Claddagh. The area also contains a number of popular attractions, including the Galway City Museum, the Galway Aquarium and event venues such as The Black Box Theatre, Druid Theatre and Roisin Dubh. There are numerous road, rail and bus links to the city centre, making it easily accessible while Galway Airport is also just a short drive away.
