Burtonport

Burtonport is a Gaeltacht fishing village in The Rosses area of Co Donegal. It is about 7km northwest of Dungloe. The main employers in the village are the Burtonport Fishermen's Co-op and the Bord Iascaigh Mhara (Irish Sea Fisheries Board) ice plant. As the mainland port for both the Arranmore car ferry service and the Arranmore fast ferry passenger service, Burtonport receives a lot of passing tourist traffic with a small selection of pubs, shops and restaurants to accommodate them. There are two national schools in the village as well as a post office, filling station and Garda Station.
