Bundoran is a town in Co Donegal. It is located on the N15 road near Ballyshannon and is the most southerly town in Donegal, close to the border with Co Leitrim. The town is a popular seaside resor and tourism is at the heart of the local economy. Bundoran is a world-renowned surfing area and was listed by National Geographic magazine as one of the World's Top 20 Surf Towns. Sligo is 35km south from Bundoran along the scenic Atlantic coast. Buses from Bundoran to Sligo stop at Sligo bus station which is adjacent to Sligo Mac Diarmada Train Station. Bus Éireann also run a regular service, several times a day, from Derry to Galway, via Letterkenny and Bundoran. Feda O'Donnell runs private buses to Sligo from Bundoran as well. Feda O'Donnell offers routes to and from Gweedore via Letterkenny, Donegal Town, Ballyshannon and Bundoran to the west of Ireland, including Sligo and Galway. There is also a regular bus service from Bundoran to Enniskillen. The town has a wide selection of shops, restaurants and pubs, as well as a cinema. It is known for its music with the Bundoran Sea Sessions Surf and Music Festival taking place every June. There is also an 18 hole golf course in Bundoran, as well as a GAA club and other sporting organisations. There is also a selection of schools in the area.
