Bruree is a village in south-east Co Limerick. Located on the River Maigue, it is 2km off the main N21 Limerick to Cork road. It forms one half of the parish of Bruree/Rockhill in the Diocese of Limerick. Bruree is 7km north-west of Kilmallock, 10km north of Charleville and 35km south of Limerick City. Neighbouring towns and villages include Kilmallock, Charleville, Effin, Athlacca, Banogue and Ballyagran. Local amenities include a garden centre, care home, museum and heritage centre, filling station, national school and a selection of shops and pubs. There are also hurling, Gaelic football and soccer clubs in the area.
