Bohermore
Bohermore is an area of Galway City Centre. It contains numerous local amenities including hotels, the Galway Shopping Centre, a cinema, a number of residential areas and numerous bus routes. It is also home to the Galway Sportsground and the Galway Greyhound Stadium with part of it overlooking Lough Atalia. The area leads onto Eyre Square, which is the heart of the city centre. There is a large cemetery located in Bohermore known as the "New Cemetery", which contains two mortuary chapels, one Catholic and the other Protestant. People buried there include Lord Haw Haw (William Joyce) who was a main German English-speaking Axis broadcaster during World War II. It is also home to the local football team, Galway Hibernians.
