Ballysheedy is a suburb of Limerick City. It is located to the south of the city centre and River Shannon but within the confines of the M7 motorway which loops the city. It is surrounded by Castletroy to the north and Garryowen to the west and features both residential and commercial premises. The River Groody flows through Ballysheedy while it is a popular student location given its proximity to the University of Limerick. There is also a selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, while sporting amenities nearby include Castletroy Golf Club, Monaleen Tennis Club and Killaloe Sailing Club. The area is also well serviced by buses to and from the city centre and further afield. There is also a number of national schools in and around the area.
