Ballybunion is a coastal town and seaside resort in Co Kerry. Located around 15km from Listowel, it boasts two popular golf courses including Ballybunion Golf Club which previously hosted events such as The Irish Open and Palmer Cup. Other attractions include Ballybunion's beach and its selection of pubs, shops and restaurants. Dolphins can often be sighted in waters off its coast while surfing and seaweed baths are also popular here. Other local amenities in the town include amusement arcades, fast food restaurants, a children's playground, a supermarket, a Garda Station and a statue commemorating the golfing visit of former US president Bill Clinton. The cliffs around Ballybunion are also popular, as well as the Tinteán Theatre. There is also a health and leisure centre in the area, as well as a GAA club and two soccer clubs.
