Ballinascarty

Ballinascarty is a village in west Cork. It lies 7km north-northeast of Clonakilty on the main N71 road from there to Cork. Local amenities include a GAA club, community centre, shop/filling station, pubs and a hair salon. Nearby is the Lisselan Estate, the gardens of which are open to the public. There is also a golf course. The village has links to Henry Ford, founder of the Ford motor vehicle company. His father William and grandfather John were both born in Ballinascarty before emigrating to Detriot.
