Athlacca is a small village in Co Limerick. It is situated 26km south of Limerick City, on the Morningstar river. There are two pubs in the village, a national school, a payschool and Catholic Church. The parish extends from Rathcannon in the south to Crean in the north, the home of the famous hurling and tug-of war teams. Athlacca is in a rural area with farming the biggest employer. There is also a GAA club Dromin/Athlacca, which plays hurling and football.
