Annascaul
Annascaul is a village on the Dingle Peninsula in Co Kerry. It is situated 32.9km west of Tralee on the N86 Tralee to Dingle national secondary road near its junction with the R561 regional road to Castlemaine and Farranfore leading to nearby Inch Strand. The Dingle Way walking route passes through the village while Annascaul Lake is situated inland and just above the village. Annascaul is the birthplace of Antarctic explorer Tom Crean, with a statue in his memory erected opposite The South Pole Inn, the pub which he owned. Other local amenities include a selection of shops, a GAA club, pubs, restaurants, B&Bs, hostels and The Church of the Sacred Heart.
