Abbeyknockmoy
Abbeyknockmoy is a village in Co Galway. It is best known for the nearby ruins of the 12th century Cistercian abbey, which was the burial site of King Cathal Crobhdearg Ua Conchobair and contains fine examples of medieval wall paintings and sculpture. Located on the N63, it is 13km south west of Tuam and 29km north east of Galway City, which can be accessed via the 433 bus. Local amenities in the village include three pubs, a service garage, a shop/filling station ,post office, pharmacy, a butchers and take away.
