On the edge of Lough Fin you will find the small hamlet of Fintown which according to Irish mythology is named after Finngeal who drowned in the lough trying to save her wounded brother Feargamhain. Below the Aghla and Screig mountains the Lough itself is about 3 miles long and is fed by the River Finn which is well known for its salmon fishing. Also within reach is the Wild Atlantic way and a number of lively towns such as Dungloe, Glenties, Ardara, Ballybofey and Letterkenny for you to explore and immerse yourself in the local Irish culture.
The West of Ireland conjures up many images; thatched, whitewashed cottages, a flock of sheep on a narrow road, an emerald green field with a stone wall, or the Atlantic waves crashing into towering cliffs and rocky shores.
