Pakes Cottage is a detached cottage near the village of Liscannor in County Clare. The cottage sleeps seven people in three bedrooms which are made up of two double rooms, one with an en-suite shower room, and a triple bunks room which has a double below, and a single on top. There is also a bathroom, a kitchen with a dining area and a sitting room with a solid fuel stove. Outside there is off road parking for two cars and a lawned garden with a patio and furniture. Pakes Cottage is the perfect base to begin your west Clare adventure.
Liscannor is a small fishing village steeped in naval and marine history, set along the rugged west Clare coast. Liscannor is overlooked by the ruins of its former castle which sits above the village, while many old stone houses are still occupied. There is a choice of bars and places to eat, including Vaughan's, an award-winning restaurant, Egan's, a must for wine buffs, and McHugh's. Two miles north west of the village is O'Brien's Monument, a tall pillar built in 1853, while the famous St Brigid's Well, reputed to have curative powers, is also close by.
County Clare has so much on offer; boat trips, quirky pubs, seaside resorts and a great tradition for Irish music, all set amidst spectacular scenery such as the towering Cliffs of Moher and the fascinating landscape of The Burren.
