Shared laundrette Area Sandford is a sleepy hamlet on the outskirts of Godshill, Isle of Wight, recognised as the ideal starting point for getting out and about along the many footpaths and by-ways into the beautiful surrounding countryside. Less than a mile away lies Godshill, one of the prettiest villages in the area with its winding main street lined with charming, thatched cottages. Explore the host of shops and fascinating model village, before treating yourself to a mouth-watering cream tea at one of the local tea gardens. For something more substantial, head to one of the local pubs or select from a variety of restaurants, including Tansy's Pantry vegan restaurant. Within 5 miles can be found the delightful seaside resorts of Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor, all well known for their mild climate, lovely sandy beaches with great waters port facilities and lots of family friendly attractions. Why not leave the car behind, relax and take the bus to enjoy the stunning views from the top deck upon The Newport - Ryde bus route; spend the day exploring the island by bus with a Day Rover ticket. How about a nostalgic trip on the Isle of Wight Steam Railway or a visit to Osborne House, Queen Victoria's magnificent summer retreat? There's such an incredible range of things to see and do on this wonderful island, catering for all tastes and ages.
