The countryside around Puddletown abounds in lovely walks and is dotted with pretty villages, including Tolpuddle, most well known for the origin of the Trade Union movement. Close by, Athelhampton House and Kingston Maurward House and gardens are well worth a visit. Just a short drive takes you to the scenic Jurassic coast, offering sandy beaches at Weymouth, rugged Portland and stunning walks along the coastal path. Puddletown makes a lovely Dorset village base from which to explore this most beautiful area.
